Food is an essential part of Reiss’ artistic output. It has color, aroma, depth, form and interplay… all the qualities of art in an edible form. An aesthetic experience that you can enjoy not just with your eyes but with all 5 senses. Reiss creates original recipes with food that she grows in her own urban gardens (yes even her Manhattan garden). She grows the food for it, creates the recipe, cooks it, styles the food with antique pieces from her collections, and immortalizes these delicious tastes in photos. The photographs capture the ephemeral for all to enjoy.
At Reiss’ events you may be able to taste some of these creations. All photos are natural lighting, no filter, no photoshopping. Photos are for sale. Contact for pricing. A cookbook is in development, just waiting for the right editor and publisher. See Gardens to see where some of the ingredients come from.
